BAPTIST BOYS HIGH SCHOOL (MISSION): THE EMINENT (7984 SET) 30TH GRADUATION ANNIVERSARY

On Saturday, 20^th December, 2014 in the rock city of Abeokuta at the Main Auditorium, Obasanjo Library was a remarkable event to mark the 30^th graduation of alumni of the great citadel of learning, BBSH, the set called the EMINENTS. Apart from sharing the joy of celebrating three decades after Secondary education, it was an event to recognize excellence achievements and appreciation of the teachers that have helped mould their bright path.

This act of rewarding their teachers during their education at BBHS in the presence of the current students of BBHS and other invited schools was passing on the gift of their magnificent example to these young people, showing them that if they dream big enough, and work hard enough, and believe in themselves, that they can do and achieve some uncommon things in their lifetime. And someday, they too can look back and appreciate the hands that have fed them. Mr. Olojo, Mrs. Olubakin, Mrs. Sogbanmu, Mr. Okorie, Mrs. Adekunle were awarded the Eminent award for Dedication to Duty; And Chief Joseph Ishola Ogunfolaji got the Eminent award for Discipline.

Current students and teachers were also recognized for excellence academic achievement. Israel Oludare and Festus Ogunbayo got the Eminent award for Academic Achievement in ICT, while Ridwan Olatomiwa Ayankola from BBHS (mission) was awarded the Eminent award for Academic Achievement in Fine and Applied Arts. Mr. Ajekigbe Akinwunmi, Mr. Adeeko Ademola and Mr. Olusegun Adeniyi (BBHS Mission) were awarded Eminent award for innovative teaching.

Some of the old boys were also recognized but the most surprising and unexpected of the awards was the Eminents’ Sweet Mother Award given to the food vendor during their time at the BBHS, Iya Kabiru (a.k.a. Mama Kaboo).
